Joyce Kao Soliman is a partner in the finance section of Porter & Hedges, L.L.P., representing financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and other lenders in commercial finance transactions, including secured and unsecured commercial loans, asset-based financings, syndicated credit facilities, letters of credit, and acquisition financings. Her practice also involves representing issuers and borrowers in public offerings and private placements of debt securities, lending transactions and general corporate matters.

Joyce is the 2010 AABA President. She previously served as the 2009 President-Elect, 2008 Vice President of Programs and Co-Chair of the successful 2007 AABA Gala & Silent Auction. Joyce is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School and has been named a “Texas Rising Star” in surveys conducted by Texas Monthly magazine from 2005-2009.

Audrey M. Chang is an associate in the Corporate and Securities section of Greenberg Traurig LLP. Audrey is developing a practice in all areas of commercial finance, with a focus on corporate finance, energy and banking transactions. In addition, she has experience in representing lenders in real estate construction and development loan transactions, low-income housing tax credit transactions and structured finance transactions. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig LLP, she worked at the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives and interned at the Texas Supreme Court.

Audrey is the current President-Elect of the AABA. She has previously served the AABA as Vice President of Membership in 2009, Co-Chair of the 2008 Mentorship and Law School Relations Committee and Co-Chair of the 2007 Social Committee. Audrey also is the current Vice-Chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Interest Section of the State Bar of Texas.

She graduated with highest honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Plan II and French and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa during her junior year. In addition, Audrey received her Juris Doctor with honors from The University of Texas School of Law and served as Co-President of the Asian Law Students Association while in school and was a member of the Texas International Law Journal.

David is an associate in the litigation practice of Mayer Brown LLP with experience before state, federal, appellate, and bankruptcy courts. He has experience with corporate investigations, the Texas Public Information Act, and general commercial disputes, including representation of clients in the industrial, oil and gas, financial, aviation, telecommunications, construction & engineering, and petrochemical sectors. David's experience with corporate investigations has involved representation of corporations and audit committees in internal investigations relating to matters implicating the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

David is the 2010 AABA Vice President of Community Relations. He has previously served the AABA as the 2009 Co-Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee and 2008 Co-Chair of the Social Committee. David graduated with honors from the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as a Justice on the Honor Court and the Lecture Series Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law, which published his article, "Stealing Beauty: Stopping the Madness of Illicit Art Trafficking," 28 HOUS. J. INT’L L. 829 (2006). He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Rice University. David is a native speaker of Mandarin and is proficient in Spanish.

Juvie A. Cruz is the 2010 Vice-President of Development for the Asian American Bar Association.

Juvie is an Associate Attorney of Daw & Ray, L.L.P. Her practice consists of general civil litigation, specifically, insurance defense and personal injury. She is also a Certified Mediator and admitted to practice before the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas, Northern District of Texas, Western District of Texas, and Eastern District of Texas. She also served as the Asian American Bar Association Treasurer in 2009.

Juvie received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

She obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University School of Law. While in law school, she was the Student Bar Association Vice-President, the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association Secretary, and the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity Clerk of the Exchequer. She also received awards such as the Dean Leadership Award, the St. Mary's Marianist Leader in the Community Award, the Pro Bono Achievement Award, the SBA 3L Member of the Year Award, and a general Scholarship Award. She was also a recognized nominee for the Chief Justice Alma Lopez Women's Leadership Award.

Helene Nguyen Dang is the 2010 AABA Vice President of Programs.

Helene is a Senior Attorney with FosterQuan, LLP, the nation’s second largest immigration law firm. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law.

Prior to joining the firm, Helene worked in the Office of the District Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security in Houston, Texas. Helene is licensed in Texas and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Asian American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, Asian Chamber of Commerce, and United Way Young Leaders. Ms. Dang is devoted to community service and is a frequent volunteer at local charitable events.

Ms. Dang handles a wide variety of immigration and nationality matters, including temporary work visas, labor certification, executive/manager transferees, other employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, nonimmigrant visas, naturalization and litigation. Julie is a founding member of the firm Brockman, Brauchle & Evans, PLLC established in 2008, where she practices commercial law and general civil litigation. She was formerly an Associate with the law office of David M. Verbit & Associates, P.C. Prior to joining David M. Verbit & Associates, P.C., Julie was a law clerk for the Honorable Arthur N. D’Italia, Presiding Judge, Civil Division of Hudson County, New Jersey.

She is a 2002 graduate of the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, where she was Social Director of the Student Bar Association. Julie received her undergraduate degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997, where she was Financial Director of the Student Government.

She is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, as well as in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She is also a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Bar Foundation.
